Police Officer Charged with Murder

Phoenix Police Officer, Richard Chrisman, has been charged with second-degree murder and cruelty to animals after he responded to a domestic violence call where he shot and killed 29 year old Danny Frank Rodriguez and a pit bull. Apparently the judge in the case feels that Richard Chrisman is not a threat to anyone else or himself and has let him go free on bail. No time in county to wait for his arraignment. Normally, murderers are not granted such privileges but some wacko Republican Judge in Arizona thanks that the cop deserves special treatment, you know, considering he's a Republican pig like the judge who's letting him go free on bail. Chrisman, 36, and officer Sergio Virgillo had been called to a South Phoenix mobile home by Rodriguez's mother. Elvira Fernandez told the officers she had been arguing with her son and that he had damaged property inside the trailer and that she left because she was afraid he would assault her. When the officers arrived at the home, Danny Rodriguez asked to see a warrant, at which point Chrisman put his pistol against Danny's head and told him he didn't need a warrant, then quickly holstered his gun. Chrisman, apparently still mad at being told he needs a warrant to enter the mobile home, started pushing and shoving Danny to get a reaction from Danny. According to the other officer on the scene. Both officers eventually drew their stun guns on Danny, which failed to subdue him. This is when Officer Chrisman pulled his service revolver and killed the pit bull that was barking at the struggle. Officer Virgillo told police investigators the dog was not threatening them and he saw no reason why Officer Chrisman would shoot it. Danny asked why Chrisman had shot his dog, and Officer Virgillo said he tried to calm Danny Rodriguez down and talk him into coming outside. Rodriguez eventually told the officers he was leaving with his bicycle, but Virgillo moved to block the door and Chrisman began struggling with Rodriguez over the handlebars of the bike. Officer Chrisman then pulled out his handgun and shot Danny Rodriguez more than once. Danny Rodriguez died at the scene. Officer Chrisman was arrested about five hours after the shooting and was freed on bail the following day.
