Man accused of shaving ex-girlfriend's head - Police in Lynnwood, Wash., say a woman's former boyfriend broke into her apartment, held her down and shaved her head so she wouldn't be attractive to other men. Lynnwood officers say they arrived last Friday to find the front door kicked in, a man holding hair clippers and a 30-year-old woman crying and holding clumps of hair.

Cops: Couple attacks sexting teen - The teen was sending the messages to a girl staying with the couple. But police say the couple took the girl's cell phone and pretended to be her as they invited him to come over. Wilder and 51-year-old Wendy Cox face kidnapping and other charges.

Bear owner found dead with bondage restraints - An exotic-animal keeper found dead in his water bed, was face down, tied with bondage restraints, and had obstructions over his nose and mouth.

Girl at sleepover dies after drinking spiked soda - Paramedics found Takeimi Rao of Santa Rosa dead in her bedroom around 9 a.m. Sunday. Her parents could not be immediately reached for comment.

Police: Man killed with one punch at Las Vegas casino - The slaying was the third on the Las Vegas Strip in less than two weeks, including the stabbings of a 21-year-old man Monday on a pedestrian walkway between casinos and the another 21-year-old Las Vegas man in a pre-dawn confrontation June 25.

Man accused of downing beer in Walmart - Rapid City police say 57-year-old Perry Arpan opened a can of beer in the store late Friday night and drank it. Police say he attempted to put the can back in the case, then set the beer in another aisle and tried to leave the building.

Phoenix girl, 10, found dead in box after apparent hide-and-seek game - The 10-year-old, who was found dead in a foot locker Tuesday morning, may have died an accidental death. The girl lived with her grandmother, an aunt and uncle and at least three other siblings in a home near Broadway Road and 35th Avenue, authorities say. Police obtained a search warrant, and Crump said, "The inside of the house was found to be in considerable disarray. We called Child Protective Services to observe the home."

Police: Calif. woman cut off husband's penis - Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said that 48-year-old Catherine Kieu Becker drugged a meal and fed it to the 51-year-old victim, whose name was not released, shortly before the attack Monday night. Nightengale said the man felt sick, went to lie down and lost consciousness. He said Becker then tied the victim's arms and legs to the bed with rope and attacked him with the 10-inch knife as he awoke.

Woman sues after Facebook romance fails - They met over Mafia Wars, but now the real fighting has begun. A suburban Detroit woman is suing a Washington state man for more than $8,000 in damages after a romance sparked over Facebook failed. Cheryl Gray, 50, of Livonia filed the civil lawsuit in May against 35-year-old Wylie Iwan of Kennewick, Wash., claiming misrepresentation, defamation of character and other charges.

Man leaving jail caught stealing from inmate - Sheriff John Montgomery says 27-year-old Matthew E. Tillery of Cotter was jailed in May on charges of nonpayment of fines and failure to appear in court. During his May 21 release, Montgomery says Tillery reached into another inmate's property box and took a wallet, cellphone and checkbook.

Man accused of handing out semen-tainted yogurt - Thirty-two-year-old Anthony Garcia was indicted Wednesday on charges of adulterating food and making false statements to federal investigators. Officers responded to the store after a woman called to report an employee had given her what she was told was a yogurt sample. The woman told police she believed it was actually a bodily fluid.
